The call came at dinner time. An unknown number, a polite voice, and one small request: “Sir, your parcel is stuck. Just pay 300 rupees and it will be released today.”

Stories like this end in two ways. In the sad way, the money leaves the account in one minute and never comes back. In the better way, someone stops, checks the number first, and finds out the truth in time.

That pause is exactly why we built Scam Alert — a free tool where anyone can check a phone number before trusting it, and report a scammer so the next person stays safe.

What Scam Alert does

Scam Alert is a simple website, made for ordinary people, not for experts. You do not need an account, you do not pay anything, and you do not install any app. Open it in your phone browser and it is ready.

It has two main jobs:

  • Search a number — see if other people have already reported it as a scam.
  • Report a scammer — if someone tried to cheat you, add their number with proof, so others can see it.

Every report goes into one shared list. So a number reported by a person in Karachi can protect a family in Multan on the same day.

How to check a number

It takes less than half a minute:

  1. Open Scam Alert.
  2. Type the unknown number in the search box.
  3. Press Search Now and read the result.

If the number has been reported, you will see a clear card: the type of scam, the date it was reported, the payment account name and number the scammer used, and even the proof screenshots people shared. If nobody has reported it yet, the site tells you that too — but stay careful anyway, because a clean result only means “not reported yet”, not “fully safe”.

How to report a scammer

If a scammer called or messaged you, your report can save someone else’s savings. Tap Report, fill the small form, and submit:

  • The scammer’s number
  • The type of scam — asked for money, fake parcel, fake bank message, or other
  • The account name and number where the scammer wanted the money
  • Screenshots, if you have them — the payment proof or the chat message

Screenshots matter. A number alone is a claim, but a screenshot is proof that people can see with their own eyes.

The scams it helps you catch

Most fraud calls in Pakistan follow the same few scripts. A fake parcel fee. A bank message with a dangerous link. A “relative in trouble” calling from a new number. A prize you never entered. A job that asks you to pay before you earn. Scam Alert also carries a full safety guide on its home page, with every common sign explained in easy words, and the exact steps to follow if money has already been lost — like calling your bank at once and reporting to the FIA Cybercrime Wing.

My own rule at home is simple: any unknown number that starts talking about money gets checked first, even when the voice sounds sweet and the story sounds urgent. Scammers are in a hurry because hurry stops people from thinking.

Common questions

Is Scam Alert free? Yes. Checking a number and reporting a scammer are both fully free, with no sign-up.

Which numbers can I check? Any number. The tool is built mainly for Pakistani mobile numbers, which is where most of these fraud calls come from.

If a number shows no report, is it safe? Not always. It only means nobody has reported it yet. Never share an OTP and never send money to an unknown number, even when the result is clean.

Can a wrong report be removed? Yes. If a report in the shared list is wrong, write to contact@talhablog.com and it will be checked and removed.

One last word

Scams spread in silence. One person loses money, feels shy, and says nothing — and the same number cheats ten more people. A shared warning list breaks that chain. Check numbers, report scammers, and share Scam Alert with your family, especially the elders at home. Ten seconds of checking can protect a whole month’s earnings.
